Here is my Budget Travel to Penang for 3D2N (inclusive of travel journey) that you may want to adopt and tailor according to your interests. For this trip, our main focus was the Heritage Site. We didn’t go to Batu Feringghi or Batu Maung area.

We avoided driving to Penang because we wanted to have stress-free state of mind. It was the last weekend before Ramadhan and it was the weekend for Penang Heritage Celebration. We decided to do it on a budget for less than RM150.00. We did most of the tours by foot. Imagine having to walk from Jalan Muntri where our homestay was to Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling and Lebuh Armenian where the celebration took place.
Although it was a sweaty affair, we managed to capture the streets’ life and the new additions to Penang that mural paintings on the old building walls and the steel-rod sculptures.
Being a Muslim, we have limitations in terms of food. But if you are a non-muslim, there are many hawkers food to shop from. It’s food heaven.
When we were on the way back to Kuala Lumpur, it took us almost 5-6 hours due to Sunday traffic. Please be forewarned most of the buses ply straight to its destinations without stopping for a break. So, do your business before boarding.
