No two mountains are the same. Mountains vary in its terrains and trails providing different experiences for the hikers or adventure seekers. What I could attest by now is that few weeks after raya is not at all a good time to go mountain climbing. After a month of fasting and non-stop loading of festive food, level of fitness drops to the ground. Conquest to Mulu Summit and Mulu Pinnacles is indeed a teary affair to yours truly to which I will narrate in details when the time comes.
To begin the travelogue to Mulu Summit and Mulu Pinnacles, let’s get to know Mulu.
Mulu is situated in the state of Sarawak on the island of Borneo. It is the largest national park in Sarawak with an area of 544 sq. km. Coveted a World Heritage Site, Mulu enthrals its visitors with wonders of nature. There are variety of attractions such as spectacular caves, including the world’s largest underground chamber, the Sarawak Chamber, the famous limestone pinnacles of Mulu and magnificent rainforests which are immensely rich in flora and fauna.
Mulu can be visited all-year-round but it is advisable to avoid the wettest months of November to February if you plan to do a trek.
How to get there : Direct flight to Miri Then another flight to Mulu. Another route which is less popular is meant for hardcore adventurous travellers who can withstand one-day journey from Kuala Baram by express boat and longboat up the Baram river and then up to Tutoh, a tributary of the Baram.
Seating next to the window, the childishness in me comes out as we pass through the elongated river. Look, sungai ular (snake river), I tell myself. The river looks from above as a snake – a long one, moving on the ground.
Any entrance into the park must be registered at the Park Headquarters. There is a nominal fee for entry and photo/video permits. The Park Headquarters provides accommodation in resthouses, chalets and in a hostel at reasonable prices The Royal Mulu Resort, a five star hotel located at the bank of Melinau river about 10 minutes boat from the Park Headquarters offers superb accommodation.

Aduhaiiii, tinggal ini aje lagi Unesco World Heritage di Malaysia yang Wakjan tak pernah pergi lagi. Terima kasih kerana berkongsi info & menyemarakkan semangat untuk ke sana ( :
Apa tunggu lagi WakJan. Moh le ke Mulu. Best tau!!
Nangis!! Teringin tapi tak ada kelapangan masa.
