While in London, my friend, Amira kept on passing random remarks on how I would love the Stanfords London Travel Bookshop, the bookshop she always bought walking maps from. I, on the other hand, could not relate to the extraordinary value of the bookshop. How different can a bookshop be, right?
On my second day in London, she arranged for a dinner near Covent Garden and made me wait for her at the bookshop. Boy, I was lost in my own world, travelling world. I pulled book after book from the shelves and carried them in my arm. After realizing I might not have enough space for books on this trip, I rearranged the books to their respective shelves. Dilemma of the travelling book enthusiast.
The Stanfords London Travel Bookshop has all the books I wish I own, from the travel guides to rare destinations to maps from all over the world to travel themed cushions to travel essentials to world map lamp. The bookshop has 3 floors with two doors; front and back via the café. The first floor carries United Kingdom, London and bestsellers.
The second floor covers the European countries.
The fiction and travelogues are arranged per their countries.
Some are real stories of travelers in the harshest environments one could ever imagine.
You would love the floor to the Stanfords London Travel Bookshop.
You’ve got the complete guide to trekking in Nepal, America and Canada. Even travel guides to the extreme places.
If you are in London, don’t forget to visit Stanfords London Travel Bookshop and many travel bookshops in London. I heard Walterstones has good selections of travel books too.

Thank you for visiting our blog, Alvi! Yes, it took me awhile to read the name of the countries, as if I don’t know them.
