One lovely Sunday morning, my friend and I, in need of fresh nature air, we embarked on a hiking trip (see the difference between hiking and trekking here) to a nearby waterfall at Sungai Lepoh Waterfall. It is located 15km north of Ulu Langar, near Kg Pangsun with GPS coordinates as follows :- N03° 15.03′ E101° 51.94′. The starting point is near the Asli Adventure Base Camp, which is 30 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur City Centre.
So that you know, Sungai Lepoh is actually Sungai Lepo/Lopo on the map.
You need to walk along the nature trail for 2 hours. We did it for 1.5 hours without stop. The nature trail is quite clear with dozens of people doing the same hiking day trip during the weekend. Sadly, the trail is not well-marked. Markings on the kind of plants one would see along the nature trails would be awesome. If you are a first timer doing it on your own, you may want to consider bringing a GPS as there were instances when people did get lost in finding Sungai Lepoh Waterfall.
We started as late as 9.30am. When we reached there, there were many people that you would not be able to take pictures without having anyone photobomb-ed your picture.
After eating my late breakfast, my friend went on to lean on a huge rock and lullabied to sleep by the sound the flowing waterfall. I took out my novel from the bag and started reading the fifth book of Game of Thrones. We thought we were the last persons arriving at the waterfall, but the flow of people coming to the waterfall did not stop until 1pm.
Sungai Lepoh Waterfall is just gorgeous!
By 2pm, it was already quiet and no one is in the small pool of water near the waterfall. I had it all to myself, yes! Apart from us, there were a group of men on hammocks. They minded their own business, so did us. By 3.30pm, we left Lepoh Waterfall as it started to rain. We did not want to get caught in kepala air or flash flood as a result of mountain water gushing down the waterfall.
Last but not least, I appeal to all visitors to Sungai Lepoh Waterfall to keep the environment clean by bringing back your rubbish.
Tips:- To get here is quite difficult to go by public transportation. I suggest you to rent a car/bike. The car park charges near Asli Adventure Base Camp as at September 2015 is RM10.00.
