Photo-walking into my collection to select 7 best pictures taken throughout my travels is a challenging task. Not that I am a pro myself, all pictures have their own stories that will be able to jog me down the memory lane.
I have been tagged by Anis of Five Foot Traveller and Lily of GlobeTrotter. No choice, I’m taking part in Hostelbookers 7 Super Shot. It’s actually a tagging game initiated by Hostelbookers for travel bloggers to share their 7 best pictures. Each blogger has to post photos and its description according to the themes given.
- A photo that…takes my breath away
- A photo that…makes me laugh or smile
- A photo that…makes me dream
- A photo that…makes me think
- A photo that…makes my mouth water
- A photo that…tells a story
- A photo that…I am most proud of (aka my worthy of National Geographic shot)
Here’s my 7 Super Shots!
1) A PHOTO THAT TAKES MY BREATH AWAY
Doljo Beach, Panglao, Philippines
It was my first day in Panglao when I begged a local man to bring me to a sunset spot. So, there was I waiting for sunset which never came that day. The sun had been blocked by the heavy clouds. At Doljo Beach, there’s a native hut built by the locals to be rented to picnickers. During the evening, the native huts were let afloat. Suddenly, the blues set in. What I love about this picture is the unusual blue combination that it captures.
2) A PHOTO THAT MAKES ME LAUGH/SMILE
Hoi An, Vietnam
Where there’s love, the world smiles together. Isn’t this picture sweet and loving?
3) A PHOTO THAT MAKES ME DREAM
That dream to move freely, to dance without the rhythm, to live life with no rules.
4) A PHOTO THAT MAKES ME THINK
The border that separates us. That thin line that makes us A, not B. The choice of life we undertake.
These were ribbons spotted at Demilitarized Zone, South Korea. Although I don’t read Koreans, I have been told the ribbons connote messages by the family members grieved by the Korean war, missing their family members over the border.
5) A PHOTO THAT MAKES MY MOUTH WATER
Hey, hey, I’m a seafood frenzy. Spread on a table by the beach of Panglao, I had a huge plate of all of them alone by the beach of Panglao!! Yes, I was travelling alone then.
6) A PHOTO THAT… I AM MOST PROUD OF (AKA MY WORTHY OF NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SHOT)
This shot was taken on my second day in India. On a holy land of Hampi, the Indians bath in the river and dry clothes by just holding them for god-knows-how-long. Look at this old man!!
SO, I AM TAGGING THOSE WHO READ ME AND HAVE NOT BEEN TAGGED YET. GO FIND YOUR PICTURES AND LEAVE ME A COMMENT THAT DIRECTS ME TO YOUR #7SUPERSHOTS.
TOODLES. KISSES.

Farah dear, you seems to miss out one of it. A photo that…tells a story
I left it out yesterday for it is the most difficult one to select. When I put in the last picture, I totally forgot about the one that tells a story.
Thanks for reminding me ya.
nice! =)
especially like the first pic. so blue!!!
That’s the beauty of Philippines sea. But they say beaches in Sabah and Sarawak are more beautiful.
Hi, Farah! Nice shots. I particularly like the last one. I personally think India is really amazing and the experience there can be really mind blowing.
P/S: One question though, how did you get the crowd to clear the area for that Taj Mahal shot? 😉
India is my favourite country. Would love to go back when circumstances permit.
The Taj Mahal picture was not captured right in front of Taj Mahal with the garden compound, this angle was taken at the side of Taj Mahal. Beautiful still and less people. Call me narcissist, I have 100 shots of me dancing happily. 😀
i loike the nat geo photo 🙂
Thanks Biqque!
Very nice photos, Farah! Not the usual run-of-the-mill ‘scenery type’ images. I really like them 🙂
Happy that you like them, Anis. Thanks for tagging me. Meet up soon. 😀

Amazing right? How the colour blends and all. So soothing that evening when I captured the picture.
I like the photo of you in front the taj. The contrast in colors. Nice.
Thanks Niza! I’d love to meet you whenever you are free and available for borak-borak. I’m planning a trip to Burma next month, so maybe you could assist me with preparation. 😀
Anything you want to know, dear! But my knowledge is as far as Yangon only 🙂
I love the photo taken in India 🙂
Thanks Ida! You also have great super shots!
Gorgeous pics… and at 3am…I love the mouth watering shots best. I am hungry:(
Thanks!! Fresh seafood at the Philippines beach, but they cooked it quite differently from what I am used to eat.
