After we descended Bukit Teresek, we were brought straight to the canopy walkway starting point. Before starting, we were briefed on the rules while being on the canopy walkway.
- Only four persons are allowed to be on each walkway at a time.
- Do not run and sway on the canopy walkway.
- Do not bring any food and drink while on the canopy walkway.
- Do not stop for a long period while on the platform.
- No smoking on the canopy walkway.
- Do not carry sharp instruments, like dagger.
- Do not vandalise or engrave on trees while on the platform.
- Do not make noise.
- Obey all orders from the officer-in-charge
At the time of visit (September 2013), only part of the canopy walkway was opened to the public. The inaccessible part was under a renovation after a tree fell onto the canopy walkway.
Some facts about the canopy walkway:-
Canopy Walkway
As the walkway swung, I had to balance my body upright. One of the tips shared by our guide is cat-walking along the walkway. Walk in straight line. From above, it was green all over. When they said it was 130 million rainforest, it was hard for me to believe that I was surrounded by the greens that had survived million of years.
By the way, the walkway is also known as titian silara. What a unique name, right?
The walkway was conjoined by a huge tree trunk from where you can view the surroundings. At another walkway section, you can view Sg. Tembeling.
Interestingly, look at how the branches extend. Beautiful.
Fakhrul Islam on the walkway.
And the famous Kakiberangan travel blogger posing on the walkway.
Priceless expression of height phobia by another participant.
We completed 7 walkway sections and reached the ground. We looked up. The walkway above our head was more challenging as one has to climb the steps to the neighbouring walkway. Too bad it was close.
