The final activity for Media Challenge 2.0 is a media visit to the Orchard Wellness & Health Resort Melaka. The existence of the resort was unknown to me until the trip. As our bus passed through the outskirt of Melaka and made its way to the Orchard Wellness & Health Resort, the village life of the locals unfolded. The journey from Melaka city centre took almost 1 hour to reach the resort. As its name connotes, the Orchard is a serene place for healing and meditation in natural environment.
Surrounded by more than 128 acres of lush greenery, the resort is one of its kind that works towards improving quality of life.

The Rooms at the Orchard Wellness & Health Resort
Each room at the Orchard is fitted with air-conditioning and natural fresh air exchange, tea making facilities and windows overlooking tropical greenery. Ensuite bathroom is equipped with a bath tub and shower with toiletries.
From Farm to Table
At the Orchard, organic vegetables, herbs and fruit trees are taken fresh from the farm and served on the table for the guests. The Orchard also rear their own free-range chickens, ducks, turkeys, deer, goats and cows. Even their fish ponds are organic. Each meal served has a carefully considered balance of protein, carbohydrates and fats for the health and body. Does it not sound healthy?
The Orchard’s Fruits Farm
There are more than 400 types of tropical fruit trees for guests to explore and you can eat all you can. When we were there, the rambutans of various species ripened. The durians were in abundance. So did the mangosteen and buah setoi in giant size.
As part of the activities, the guests may participate in the fruit picking during the harvest season.
