Every beginning has an ending. The same goes to My Selangor Story 2013. Vivatel Kuala Lumpur, a 4-star boutique hotel sponsored our accomodation on the 4th night. We arrived quite late and the briefing was moved to the next day i.e. the 5th day of My Selangor Story.
Vivatel Kuala Lumpur
With a distinct concept of “experience the natural element”, the rooms at Vivatel Kuala Lumpur have few themes such as fire, water, earth metal and wood. If you have not heard of this hotel, don’t fret. It’s the new boutique hotel in town which first opened its doors on 15 December 2012. Since it is brand new, I feel obliged to write extensively on this hotel.
Location wise. It is located in a strategic location which is only 10 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur Golden Triangle, and 40 minutes from KLIA and Putrajaya. If your choice of transport is public transportation, there is STAR Light Rail Transit – Miharja LRT Station within 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
The room ranges from RM360 to RM1,400 per room per night. They come in the following categories:- Standard Room, Deluxe Room, Supreme Deluxe Room, Junior Suites, Executive Suites and Duplex Suites. This is the first hotel in Malaysia to feature Express Check-In kiosks to save time for regular guests. There are a spa, a fitness centre, swimming pools, 24-hour room service, a business centre, a 1000-seater Grand Ballroom with three restaurants and cafes – Retro Cafe, Retro Lounge and Club 7.
The other products under the same parent company of Seng Group are Central Market and Kenanga Wholesale Center Fashion Mall.
Vivatel also provides free shuttle service from Vivatel Kuala Lumpur to Central Market Kuala Lumpur and KWC Fashion mall from 10.00am to 6pm daily with an interval of 2 hours per trip.
Personally, I was impressed with the new concept and I am impressed with the water and earth element. You can choose the theme but it is subject to availability, of course. All in all, our stay at Vivatel is a pleasant one. Thanks Vivatel for having us.

Kenanga Wholesale Centre
A new shopping mall I have had never visited. So, it was my first time during My Selangor Story visit to Kenanga Wholesale Center.
KWC is Malaysia’s first one-stop fashion wholesale shopping mall that brings together a large and comprehensive directory of businesses – fashion for women, men and kids, accessories, shoes, gifts, leather goods and much more, all under one roof.
18 floors of shops as many as 800 for you to shop until your jaw drop. This concept is inspired by the wholesale center in Indonesia, China and South Korea. But you can also buy retail, meaning to say purchase 1 or 2 items. It depends on the whether or not the shop allows such transaction. The staff that showed us around alerted us with a sticker passed on the front glass panel of many shops that indicate either the shop is meant for retail and wholesale or wholesale only. We were also informed even if it is only for wholesale, you may ask the owner to buy on retail price. All in the discretion of the owner. It is amazing to see nice dresses sold as cheap as RM15-RM20.
It is advisable to visit Kenanga Wholesale Centre with your friends and family members so that you can haggle for the lowest price possible. So apa tunggu lagi…
Bidding farewell is the hardest
After the visit to Kenanga Wholesale Centre, it marked the END of My Selangor Story. How fast the time fleets, right? It was as if yesterday I braved the massive traffic to Klang rewarded with terrific services from Premiere Hotel. Rushing here and there for Klang Heritage Tour while dear Citra kept on missing from the group. Caught myself speaking Indonesian language to mamak asking for refill of water – much to my laughter. Well yes, it was within these 5 days, I spoke the most Indonesian language in my own country. I can now attest that there is a vast improvement in my Indonesian language. Thanks kawan-kawan for that.
The happy moment I shared with Rika, Intan, Beni, Kus, Syauqie, Winny and few others at Sunway Lagoon. Let alone the screams I let out during the tube slide with Rika. Sunway Lagoon reminds me now not only of the fun, but the togetherness of the participants which I’d like to liken as a family in protecting, assisting and giving motivation to Mujtahid who happened to lose his wallet and important documents and wallet at Sunway Lagoon.
Moving on, the Hantu Kak Limah story and subsequent ghost stories shared between Devi, Intan, Ericka, Huda & I. Remember, jangan pandang belakang! Not to forget the pillow/sofa talk I had with the girls at Canary Palm Villa. And next, the tandem bicycle ride. Thank you Helga for keeping up to my pace. Oh yes, the moment when I was hard pressed against the entrance wall together with Huda, Intan and Rika is now playing on my mind. What an experience!
Last but not least, Cowok Iklan si Hijrah that knows how to endlessly promote Tourism Selangor – example, “Terima Kasih My Selangor Story. Dulu aku ngak bisa gaul dgn teman-teman. Semenjak menyertai My Selangor Story, aku jadi gaul habis”.
The song, “Ketika Cinta Bertasbih Nadi Berdenyut Merdu” will always remind of #cinlok between Intan and Bang Rusli.
Each and everyone of us has his/her own colourful character that supplement our life. Thanks semua for this remarkable friendship.
Not to forget the organizer and the sponsors and Tourism Selangor for making this happened!
Ok untuk lebih dramatik, saya nak tuju lagu Padi – Sahabat Selamanya (soundtrack Upin Ipin)
