Our final destination during our Makassar trip was an off-beaten waterfall known as Parangloe Waterfall. The waterfall is located in the area of Bili-bili, Kabupaten of Gowa, South Sulawesi. This is not the kind of place you get to know through the internet or map reading. Little was said in the internet about this waterfall. I first got to know about Parangloe Waterfall when Ole told us there was a waterfall with unique rock composition. It takes a local to show you the way to Parangloe Waterfall.
After we passed by Bendungan Bili-bili, we swerved to the left going into a jungle trail. There was no signpost leading to the waterfall nor was there any person who could direct you to the waterfall.
Even with our Kijang, the road condition was very bad. I was afraid if our Kijang broke down in the middle of nowhere, but all was fine.
Then, we had to trek for about 20 minutes to the waterfall. At first, I was sceptical if there was even a waterfall inside the jungle. The place looked abandoned.
Parangloe Waterfall
There stood the waterfall, isolated from modern days. It is hard to imagine the waterfall is accessible in 20 minutes from where we parked our car. When we arrived at the waterfall area, a group of youngsters were packing. It looked as if it was going to rain. We had to quickly take pictures of the waterfall for heavy rain might put our lives in jeopardy. Too risky to risk our lives.
Parangloe Waterfall is one the most beautiful waterfalls I have seen. The black rock formation is one of its kind. The rock was slippery, so we had to step with care. As we did not have much time, we spent the time there taking our pictures with Parangloe Waterfall background.
Being in Parangloe Waterfall is as if we were in a lost world.

wow, sgt cantik air terjunnya…rock formation nya pun sangat unik.. err mmg takde pengunjung lain ke farah? maklumlah biasanya kalau di Indonesia jrang tempat yang indah sebegini tidak dikunjungi pengunjung lain..
Masa sampai tu, ada satu group muda-mudi baru lepas mandi dan dah nak gerak balik. Lepas tu memang tak ada orang langsung selain kami semua. Sayang sbb tak sempat mandi sbb hari gelap nak hujan takut kena kepala air.
