It is now about time for me to post the event I attended last Sunday, Avon’s Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer Charity Fun Walk. According to the Star, 7,230 people flooded Putrajaya on 23/09/2012 in conjunction with Avon’s Kiss Goodbye to Breast Cancer Charity Fun Walk.
When I arrived at about 8a.m., there was already a sea of pinky people in front of Palace of Justice, Putrajaya. A huge crowd cheering whenever the emcee, Maria Tunku Sabri announced exciting facts about the event. A barrier was made to separate the participants and breast cancer survivors, Avon ambassadors, VVIPs, celebrities. Among local celebrities who were present were Neelofa, Que Haidar, Scha Al-Yahya, Linda Yasmine, So Wincci, DJ Jeff, Leslie Chai and Datuk Fazley. The latter would lead the walk. Before the walk kicked start, participants took part in warming up session followed by Zumba dance moves.
And the walk for a good cause began:-
It was a 5.5km fun walk with a lot of stops with cheers and photography sessions in between. Also Gangnam style music in the background received mixed reaction from participants. Some were dancing to it while the rest sneered away.
Drinks were given to participants at one of the stops. My bf and I walked snail-slow, so we didn’t get our fair share of 100plus. But yay, we managed to gobbled down 2 cups of milo. Yes, iced milo from the van.
There you go, we finished the 5.5km walk with style.
Enough of the fun walk (evinced by the pictures), atleast one person in our life has suffered or surrender to breast cancer. While our breasts are weapon for sexual lust, they are the assets women take for granted for too long until they learn about the lump. Early detection in breast cancer takes only a simple task which requires a monthly breast-self routine beginning from teenage years onwards, annual clinical examination by a doctor and an annual mammogram after the age of 40 years.

Stop taking that part of your body for granted. Act on it now or suffer later. Spread this to your loved ones. Your one simple act may save someone’s life.
