Although this is the third year on which Putrajaya organises Festival Light and Motion Putrajaya 2015 (LAMPU), the feedbacks on the previous similar events in Putrajaya suggested that I have to go to see it for myself. This year LAMPU 2015 showcases grand Projection Mapping onto the facades of Palace of Justice as well as the entrance of Masjid Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin.
I went to watch LAMPU 2015 on its first day after a busy day at work on Friday. We were late because of the ocasional rain and Friday traffic coming from city centre and only reached Palace of Justice at 9am. The parking space was in abundance and crowd was forming as the rain stopped. We went lost for good 15 minutes thinking that we missed the Projection Mapping. First, we went to see the puppet show and the garden lighting.
As we reached the crowd who was cheering after the finish of the opening speech, the Projection Mapping began. The Projection Mapping is divided into series which were projected at intervals of 3-5 each.
As someone who often frequent Palace of Justice for work doing serious business and the fact that those end up at the Palace of Justice are unhappy people, it was exciting to see the Palace of Justice be transformed into a colourful building.
The festival is complemented with many light art communities and university students showcasing their creativity through 3R Light Structure, tron-themed dances and other modern lighting exhibitions.
