The Living Room which is a contemporary all-day-dining venue is offering a delectable traditional Malaysian spread prepared by Executive Chef Halim Chek Lah. From the Westin’s entrance, the staff ushers me to the seat dedicated to media. The hospitality of the staff is commendable suiting for its 5 stars rating.
The Ramadan is around the corner and it’s time for a Ramadan buffet food review! I was invited to enjoy the juadah iftar at the Living Room of the Westin Kuala Lumpur. Difficult for me to say no because of its proximity from my workplace.

The dining area is divided into live cooking stations such as the pasta station, kerabu station, stir fry station, young tau foo station, satay station, kandar station and many others. There are more than 50 mouth-watering dishes on the buffet spread.
Starter
As a start, break your fast with fine premium dates from Iran and Tunisia and quench your thirst with zamzam water brought to you all the way from Madinah.

Feasting on the Food
To be honest, be prepared to be spoiled for choice from Gear Box Soup, ‘Roti John Pelangi Ayam’, the special 6 hours braised beef short ribs, marinated local style roasted whole lamb, lemang and variety of ketupat and nasi impit, traditional malay kuih and noodles. Another special Malay dishes are served in the form of gulai kawah, a huge wok usually used for slow cooking.

Desserts
My favourite section of the buffet is the dessert room. Apart from the Malay traditional kuih, you can also find the Strawberry Mousse Cake, Roseville Cream Brulee, local gelato in local fruits flavours! Imagine when I first tasted ice-cream kedondong!! So rare and so tasty.

Durian Feast
After having a lot of food in the span of 1.5 hours, we quickly went down to the back of Westin Hotel KL to enjoy the durian. If you are a fan of durian, you will always have a place for some durians no matter how full you are. The Living Room served durian kampung and surprisingly they taste so good.
