Who have thought you can have one of the best days just 15km away from Kuala Lumpur? I was on assignment to review the 5 top rides of Sunway Lagoon, all courtesy to Sunway Lagoon. I brought my family (parents and sister) to Sunway Lagoon along last weekend to have a whale of time and yes, we had so much fun trying the rides and splashing water at the park. After the flash mob opening at the Sunway Lagoon entrance, we rushed in with the crowd. The park is so huge; no time shall be wasted if you want to make full use of the ticket. Here go the top 5 rides of Sunway Lagoon; self-picked by yours truly.
My most favourite ride was the last ride I dared myself. At first it was a paid ride until Rambleandwander who happened to be in Sunway Lagoon the same day, worked wonder and got me two seats for the adrenaline rush force. When we approached the counter, 3 other couples were there. Deciding which couple would go first was “no, you first” affair. Suddenly, everybody became gentlemen. We laughed and joked with one another so as to kill the butterflies which were flying high in the stomach. My sister and I were the last couple of the four couples to be flung high to the sky. I easily won the loudest scream of all. This is the only ride where we could make use of the Go Pro for the G-Force machine had a segment for Go Pro and you can ask the handler to insert your Go Pro.
I got wacky crazy being super soaked at Spongebob Splash Adventure. It was a family friendly ride as kids and adults enjoyed the battle of water bomb before sliding down the many levels slides. I climbed the stairs for the thousandth times to slide down the slides, taking turns with the younger playmates. As I walked around the Spongebob ruins, I had to be extra careful for the pails of water that would tilt when they were full. Some mischievous little playmates would intentionally aim for the careless being.
Slightly after 4pm, Spongebob Splash Adventure came alive yet again. It’s the daily mass sliming where the bright green slime oozing out of the Spongebob tower. Definitely, something to look forward at Asia’s 1st Nickelodeon Themed Park at Sunway Lagoon.
Kubarango looks like a giant slide. It brought us through the steep drop where our hearts jumped a little before experiencing the vertical, weightless momentum and then a reverse free fall. The sensation of steep drop was sudden; I was barely able to shriek before another reverse free fall. It was really funny to be doing this ride. It may look easy, but your heart races fast when you near the steep drop.
Also in my list of Top 5 Rides of Sunway Lagoon is the world largest water ride – Vuvuzela. We joined a family of 5 plunging from a 11-storeys high tower into the world’s largest funnel. We twirled and get twisted inside the vuvuzela as we screamed our lungs out. The tips to survive is to hold on to dear life by not letting go of the rope grip. It was really funny when I screamed the loudest and the small kids were laughing at me. Haha.
Not as extreme as the other rides at the Nickelodeon Themed Park, this ride is certainly the ride each family member would enjoy. It would take a large tube that fits four person over the edge surprising drops, twisting turns and a splash at the end.
